FAQ
1 Rack-n-Roll FAQ's
1.1 What do you stock?

We try as hard as we can to keep our most popular racks and accessories in stock. However, COVID-19 has complicated production & delivery times in unprecedented ways. We will give you our best-known ETAs on items, but please understand the circumstances.

1.2 Will my old roof rack fit my new car?

…Maybe. Certain types of rack configurations lend themselves to swapping between vehicles better than others. We will always do our best to use as much of your original rack system as possible to ensure you get the most value from your existing products.

1.3 How much weight can my roof rack support?

This has a few variables such as vehicle manufacturer specifications and available fit solutions. The typical passenger car aftermarket crossbar system is rated for 165lbs. dynamic load. Truck bed racks can support up to 1,000lbs. We are happy to discuss the various options and do our best to find a safe fit for your needs.

1.4 Can I put a Roof-Top Tent (RTT) on my vehicle?

Certain rack solutions can safely support a RTT – if the tent’s weight is under the safe dynamic load rating for the vehicle/rack system. The static load rating is much higher, which is why it is possible to have people in the tent while the vehicle is stationary.

1.5 Do you have a rack for my Ebike(s)?

Most of the Ebike-compatible bike racks we offer currently support a 60lb. bike per tray in a 2-bike tray configuration. Many of our racks are expandable, but as the number of bikes carried increases, the weight rating per tray decreases. The vehicle’s receiver hitch size will also play a role in overall carrying capacity.

1.6 Can I use my bike rack on an RV or trailer?

Due to the loads imposed on these types of vehicles, many racks are not rated for such use and will most certainly void the manufacturer’s warranty. We do offer a selection of RV-rated bike racks than can carry up to 4 bikes. Bike frame adapters may be required for certain applications.
