I traveled cross country and needed extra space but I am fairly short and did not want to keep hopping up on the roof all the time so this made sense. I only had one Gearlocker and it worked perfectly, it sat low enough I did not need any license plate add-ons and my backlights were easily seen. Loved the built in tie-downs inside as well. My cargo door opened up fine with the one box so I never had to use the swing feature(obviously vehicles vary). While the hitch may at first seem cumbersome, I got it on and off by myself no issues. I read that there are dust issues with the box so I fixed it by adding some high heat grill felt seal(take the marketing hint Yakima), I just taped it up on the top part where it meets the bottom and I had zero dust issues and I drove through many deserts in my travels. I love how low this sat and I could get to everything I needed with ease. I will also say there was zero rattle and noise from the gearlocker. I highly recommend this set up!

I love the product but they sent it locked without a key , failing to mention in packing that REI has a master key set you can use.
I ruined mine trying to get it open. Had to buy another one . I'm now on my third box with the upper level kit and swing arm hitch system. I've also purchased a roof rack ..
Very disappointed that they didn't send keys.
