Accessory Lock Housing

If you have round crossbars and use the mounting clips that fit them, then this is the way to go. I have used these type locks for over 20 years and have never had any of my Yakima accessories stolen. These housings along with the SKS locks are solid and have withstood the 128 degree heat of Death Valley, as well as the severe cold of Sierra winters, and always worked perfectly. Have used them with all my Kayak, Bicycle, and Ski rack accessories when applicable. I now have about 10 of them, purchased at different times, and Yakima has been great in swapping different numbered SKS key cores so I can use the same key on all of them.

Nice idea for those like myself that have a bike rack that isn't secure from thieves. The only CON of this product, which is a big one, is that it does not come with a lock core! If the price was lower I would not care, but as is there should be a lock core sold with. Overall, I am pleased with the construction of the accessory lock and feel comfortable when I'm hitting the trails.

Purchased for that extra security on the CopperHead bike rack I purchased. Was very simple to install and in case I forget to lock the locking skewer, the lock housing is still locked!
