Credit to Yakima for selling these replacement levers at a reasonable price. Shipping took a month because they were sold out at all sites I visited. My question to Yakima is this - if the replacement levers are regularly sold out, it indicates that many of us are breaking these levers on our racks. Ski racks tend to be used in very cold weather. Plastic tends to become very brittle in cold weather. So it appears that many of us are breaking the plastic levers due to cold winter weather. Instead of selling replacements levers (still plastic) how about a redesign to eliminate the brittle plastic? Then we all won't have to be buying replacement levers. Please?
